Hit Parade: Gómez Pops 5 Hits
All game long, U.S. Army's José Gómez was rattling the walls at Ballpark of Corpus Christi College and banging out base hits against the Best Buy Geek Squad. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Black Knights had a win, 14-7.

Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 18-year-old left fielder said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."

José Gómez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Gary Bowling in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th.

Gómez is batting .423 this year with 19 home runs, 53 RBIs and 41 runs scored. He has 69 hits in 163 at-bats.
