Sánchez Goes 5-for-6
|
Juan Sánchez got the glory and the headlines, but the Anheiser-Busch Budweisers left with the win. The Gillette first baseman easily handled the Budweisers pitching, going 5-for-6, but his Gillette Razors came out on the short end of the 23-19 score.
Sánchez told BNN reporters in the postgame interview he would happily trade "three or four" of his hits for a win.
"Heck, maybe even all of them," he said with a laugh. "Right now, it just seems like one loss in a long season but who knows what it could mean at the end."
Juan Sánchez hit a solo-shot off Fernando Ramírez in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, walked in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and grounded out in the 8th.
In 2062 Sánchez has hit at a .409 clip with 70 hits, 19 home runs, 51 RBIs and has scored 41 times.
