Carlock Belts 5 Hits
|
All game long, Marriott's Harry Carlock was rattling the walls at Charlotte College Fields and banging out base hits against the U.S. Navy Midshipmen. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Hops had a win, 20-1.
Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 20-year-old catcher said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."
Harry Carlock walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Phil Stevenson in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Ralph Twilley in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Wing-kit Huang in the 6th, singled in the 7th, walked in the 8th and doubled in the 9th.
So far this year, Carlock is batting .385 with 10 home runs and 32 RBIs.
