Román Whips Topeka, 2-0 Saturday, August 11th , 2063 The Council Bluffs Express did little to support starter Jorge Román against the Topeka ThunderBears, but it turned out he didn't need the help. The left-hander spun a complete game shutout against the ThunderBears, striking out 4 and surrendering 4 hits. The performance from Román allowed Council Bluffs to escape with the 2-0 win, despite an anemic offense. "Nobody came to me and said, 'Jorge, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Román told BNN reporters following the win.
