Campos Laces 3 HR Against U.S. Coast Guard Wednesday, January 26th , 2061 Today was a special one for Luis Campos of the AmGen Chemists as he slammed three home runs in the 19-3 Chemists win over the U.S. Coast Guard Bears. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The AmGen catcher collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 8, and scored 4 runs in the contest at Capital Territory Ballpark. Luis Campos hit a GRAND SLAM off Armando Healey in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Nori Matsuo in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Jeremy Bevins in the 5th, walked in the 7th and walked in the 8th. Thus far this season, Campos is hitting .308 with 17 home runs, 46 RBIs and 28 runs scored. He has 28 hits in 91 at-bats and has played in 23 games. |
