Rowell Cracks 3 HRs for Kellogg Saturday, February 26th , 2061 Steve Rowell went on an explosive hitting spree against the Nike Airs at Marksmen Ballpark, launching a trio of blasts to help the Kellogg Tigers win, 20-4. The first baseman finished 4-for-6 with 3 runs scored and 8 RBI. "It was just one of those days," Rowell said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Nike skipper Fabio Blankendal said Rowell was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Steve Rowell singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Wes Tolmie in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Orlando Provost in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Rafael Gillum in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. Rowell is hitting .342 this year with 12 home runs and 37 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .480, 43 walks and scored 53 times. |
