Carrillo Strokes 3 HR Against U.S. Air Force
Wednesday, January 11th , 2062
Gillette Razors second baseman Juan Carrillo sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little.
Prior to the start of today's contest with the U.S. Air Force Falcons, Carrillo told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times.
"During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber."
The big day from Carrillo pushed the Razors past the Falcons, 8-6. To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Carrillo told reporters after the game.
Juan Carrillo hit a solo-shot off Walter Barry in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Stephen Wiggins in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Kirk Redding in the 9th.
In the current season, Carrillo has put up a .444 batting average with 20 hits, 9 home runs, 16 runs batted in and scored 15 runs.
