Wild Hares Hernández Raps 3 Homers Thursday, February 16th , 2062 António Hernández went yard three times in a Shiner Wild Hares victory over the Kellogg Tigers at Shiner Field. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Shiner first baseman went 3-for-5 against Kellogg with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Wild Hares to the 10-5 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." António Hernández hit a solo-shot off José Juárez in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Alberto Martínez in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Joe Faris in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. Thus far this year, Hernández has hit .275 with 15 home runs and 36 RBIs. |
