Rivers Sensational, 5-for-7 Sunday, February 19th , 2062 All game long, Schlitz's Jim Rivers was rattling the walls at Charlotte College Fields and banging out base hits against the U.S. Navy Midshipmen. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Tallboys had a win, 19-7. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 18-year-old right fielder said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this." Jim Rivers hit a two-run home run off Jim Helton in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jorge Villa in the 7th, singled in the 9th and singled in the 9th.
