5-Hit Blitz by Persinger Tuesday, January 30th , 2063 After a 5-hit effort to lead Marriott's 17-7 victory over the Netflix Streamers, first baseman Cody Persinger told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the College Conference All-Stars-level is really something special." The 19-year-old player earned his accolades at Ballpark of Saint Petersburg College with a spectacular 5-for-7 game against the Streamers. "His swing is getting there," said Hops skipper Claudio Nieves, who spoke glowingly of Persinger after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Cody did that to perfection." Cody Persinger singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Rizaldo Dacutanan in the 6th, flied out in the 7th, hit a two-run double in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
