Hitting Streak Still Alive for Tully
Sunday, February 11th , 2063
The red-hot Doug Tully is riding high with a 41-consecutive-game hitting streak and is drawing a lot of attention at the ballpark and in the press. The 19-year-old left fielder continued the streak at Mortars Stadium with 3 hits in 5 at-bats as the Schlitz Tallboys got the best of the Chevrolet Chevys, 16-5.
"It's great," Schlitz manager Ismael Valéncia said. "The guys are having fun hitting in front of him and behind him, the fans are having fun watching him. It's been fun and exciting. Not only here, but baseball fans everywhere appreciate what is going on right now, and it has everyone on the edge of their seats wondering what he is going to do." Doug Tully singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Daniel Blanc in the 9th.
This year, Tully is hitting .493 with 75 hits, 9 home runs, 39 RBIs and has scored 45 runs.
