López Goes 5-for-6 Against Coca-Cola
Monday, February 19th , 2063
U.S. Navy left fielder Santiago López could do no wrong in his team's 35-25 win over the Splash, as he collected 5 hits.
"Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Splash skipper Noah Evans said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts."
López agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game.
"Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
Santiago López hit an RBI single in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Iván Villarreal in the 6th, walked in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Emmett Ball in the 8th.
This season in 37 games, López is batting .349 with 12 home runs, 35 RBIs and has scored 35 times.
