Alomar Hitless, Stopped by Whoppers Wednesday, February 21st , 2063 It was a doubly miserable day for Álex Alomar of the Disney Mouse, as he saw his 20-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 21-3, to the Burger King Whoppers at Ballpark of Wyncote College. The 19-year-old third baseman was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Whoppers. "Anyone on a 20-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Burger King manager Travis Gómez said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." This year, Alomar has hit 11 home runs and posted a .399 batting average. |
