Thrice Is Nice: Scaife Unloads 3 Homers Thursday, February 22nd , 2063 The Staples Staples won't soon forget the display of raw power by Jon Scaife of the Marriott Hops. He victimized the Staples by pounding three pitches out of Smash Ballpark to spark his club to a win, 22-10. "I got three pitches down the pipe and popped them," Scaife told reporters. "Today I was in a groove. Tomorrow, I could just pop up the same pitches and go 0-for-3." In addition to the homers, he collected 8 RBIs and scored 4 runs. Jon Scaife singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off José Reyna in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Mario Gonzáles in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Miguel Bordón in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and walked in a run in the 8th. Scaife is hitting .322 for the season with 26 home runs, 77 RBIs and 70 runs scored. He has 58 hits in 180 at-bats and played in 44 games. |
