Scaife Socks It to Staples, Cracks 5 Hits Thursday, February 22nd , 2063 It was a parade of hits for Jon Scaife of the Marriott Hops at Smash Ballpark. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Scaife finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 6 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Hops to a win, 22-10. "Scaife was really good and we were really bad," groaned Staples manager Paul Cháves. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Jon Scaife singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off José Reyna in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Mario Gonzáles in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Miguel Bordón in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and walked in a run in the 8th.
